Like the title says, not too much to report today. Made it from Oak Harbour to Poulsbo, or at least just outside Poulsbo off highway 3. It was absolutely pouring with rain when I woke up, but fortunately that stopped and by 10am I was back on the road. Concious that I had one less hour of daylight in the evening due to the clocks changing on saturday night I set my alarm for 8.30am, in the safe knowledge that would actually be 7.30 am. Or so I thought. Stupid phone changed it's own time in the night so I did indeed wake at 8.30, an hour later than intended! Saying that it mean't I got an extra hours sleep so I can't complain.
Some fantastic scenery today, although I've been a little lacking in the photography of it. In fact the 2 below were all I could muster as when you are moving and have a rythmn you don't want to stop every time you see something nice. I went across a great bridge called Hood Canal Bridge, should really have take a photo at that point but it had just started to rain again so I pushed on. 53.19 miles on the speedo today, and throw in a half hour ferry ride between Keystone and Port Townsend and I'm keeping well above my 50 mile a day average. Tomorrow was penned in as a rest day but there isn't much around here and the legs don't feel too bad so will maybe head to the next town along and see where we go from there. The photos were taken just outside Port Ludlow:
I've also tried to map my ride via gmaps - although it tends to insist on using the interstate and although I have tweeked it a bit to try and get it right it is not 100% correct. Pretty close though:
